Dr. William Z. King

Optometrist

Dr. William Z. King specializes in the treatment and management of ocular disease including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and ocular emergencies. He has a particularly strong passion for helping those suffering from severe dry eye disease.

Born and raised in Indianapolis, Dr. King received a biochemistry degree from DePauw University and a Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University. He completed his externship training at John Kenyon American Eye Institute, Quantico Naval Health Clinic and Perry Point VA Medical Center.

Prior to joining Indiana Eye Clinic, Dr. King worked at a large specialty ophthalmology clinic managing complicated ocular disease and routine care as well as surgical pre and post-operative patients in northern Indiana.

Dr. King is an adjunct clinical faculty instructor with the Michigan College of Optometry as well as Treasurer Secretary and former Vice President of the North Central Indiana Optometric Society. He is certified by the National Board of Examiners in the treatment and management of ocular disease, and is a member of the American Optometric Association, Indiana Optometric Association and Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society.

Outside of eye care, Dr. King is an avid sports fan and enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids. At home, he is infamous for his bad “dad jokes.”
