Employee Spotlight — Dr. Brandon Terry

Dr. Brandon Terry has been interested in eyes since he was a little boy. He grew up just down the street from his grandmother, who was legally blind.

“She lost one eye to injury as a child and could only make out shapes in her other eye due to severe glaucoma,” he said. “It impressed me how much she appreciated the little vision she had. She would always comment on how beautiful things like Christmas lights looked.”

That appreciation for the gift of sight compelled Dr. Terry to enter the field of eye care and help people like his grandmother.

Dr. Terry graduated from Indiana University, where he received his doctorate in optometry. He then practiced for three years in a hospital-based clinic north of Indianapolis, treating emergent and non-emergent eye disease as well as providing comprehensive vision care.

Dr. Terry joined Indiana Eye Clinic right at the start of 2018.

“I was impressed by IEC’s great reputation, advanced equipment, and the knowledge and experience of the doctors who work here,” he said. “I knew it would be a place where I could maximize my abilities and take the best possible care of my patients.”

Dr. Terry provides a wide range of non-surgical eye care, from prescribing a child’s first pair of glasses to managing diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, glaucoma, eye injuries and post-operative care.

Dr. Terry’s favorite part of IEC is the compassionate atmosphere. In the same way that he thinks about his grandmother while delivering eye care, the rest of the staff treats every patient like family.

“I really like the people and the culture here,” he said. “Everyone in the office truly cares about what is best for the patients.”
