Employee Spotlight — Becky Hedrick

Becky Hedrick’s career in eye care began more than 20 years ago. She started as a receptionist and went on to become a technician and an optician. Becky continued climbing the ladder at Indiana Eye Clinic as well, joining in 1999 as a patient service representative before moving on to the billing department as an account representative and stepping into her current role as front office manager.

“My passion is helping people,” Becky said. “Every day I get to see the difference we make in our patients’ lives. Hearing the stories of how enhanced vision impacted them fills me with so much happiness and pride. Some of our patients have been with us for many years, so we really get to know them and their loved ones. I treasure those experiences.”

To Becky, the joy of eye care lies in the intimate, family-like atmosphere of IEC.

“I feel as strongly about our team as I do about my own family,” she said. “We’ve laughed together and cried together. We’ve shared our highs and lows. We support each other through everything, even through personal things. Over the years, I’ve gotten to witness the love, humanity and compassion of this team.”

Outside of the clinic, Becky is happily married with “two wonderful stepchildren and four of the most amazing grandchildren in the world.” She loves spending time with them and the furry member of their family, Luger, a loving, gentle German Shepherd. She especially enjoys time in the great outdoors, as nature soothes her soul. Becky is grateful to have a workplace that makes her feel equally calm and comfortable.
