Dr. Michael L. Hopen
Michael L. Hopen, M.D., specializes in surgical and medical management of a variety of ophthalmologic conditions including cataract surgery with advanced lens technology, ophthalmic plastics, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease and macular degeneration.
Dr. Hopen completed his undergraduate studies at Indiana University in Bloomington in 2004, graduating with high distinction and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his medical degree and a Master of Business Administration in 2010 from Indiana University, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honors medical society. After an internship at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Dr. Hopen completed his Ophthalmology residency at Indiana University.
Dr Hopen is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Indiana Academy of Ophthalmology. He is a volunteer faculty member at Indiana University, Department of Ophthalmology. Dr Hopen comes from a family that has been drawn to healthcare, as both parents are physicians and his two brothers are an ophthalmologist and dentist, respectively.
